A brilliant comeback by the bowlers of Lahore, defended 77 runs in the last 8 overs
Multan (Latest News. February 13, 2023) In the opening match of PSL 8, the defending champions Lahore Qalandars defeated Multan Sultans by 1 run after a thrilling match. In the first match being played at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Fakhar Zaman and Mirza Tahir Baig opened the match for Lahore Qalandars and established a partnership of 61 runs for the first wicket. Tahir Beg returned to the pavilion after playing an innings of 32 runs off 26 balls, Akil Hussain showed him the way to the pavilion.
Wicketkeeper batsman Shay Hope scored 19 runs from 17 balls with the help of one four and one six. Kamran Ghulam got out on the last ball of the 15th over, he scored 3 runs. Fakhar Zaman, who scored the first half-century of this season, was also dismissed on the first ball of the 16th over.
Fakhr Zaman scored 66 runs off 42 balls with the help of 3 fours and 5 sixes. Hussain Talat scored 20 runs off 12 balls with the help of a four and a six to take the team's score to 164 runs and returned to the pavilion on the ball of Ehsanullah.

Earlier Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and decided to bowl.
